Georgia's car accident statistics are disheartening

It's something we take for granted. Every day, we get in our cars to commute to work or run errands, rarely thinking about the inherent dangers we take on by getting behind the wheel. You can do everything right and still find yourself in an accident. Almost everyone has seen friends or family members injured in car accidents, but still, the true scope of the peril never comes into focus.

An Epidural Hematoma: A Serious Brain Injury in Car Accidents

Everyone knows that car accidents are a risk anytime someone gets into a motor vehicle. While car accidents can range from relatively minor fender-benders to serious, multi-car pileups, even the smallest of car accidents can result in serious injuries.

Car accident injuries aren't always obvious

A car accident is a traumatic experience, and even if you only have minor injuries, you may suffer symptoms related to the crash for a long time after the incident. Some injuries are obvious, such as broken bones, cuts and bruises. However, you may have suffered an injury that remained hidden for some time before it began causing you trouble.

Fatal traffic accidents rise 10% in the first half of 2016

The United States has seen an alarming increase in traffic-related deaths in the first six months of 2016, compared to the same time period of 2015. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), an estimated 17,775 people died in motor vehicle crashes so far in 2016. Last year at this time there were 16,100, resulting in an increase of 10.4 percent. The NHTSA also reports that although overall traffic has increased by 3.3 percent, this alone would not account for the additional deaths.

3 ways an attorney can help you after a serious car crash

After any car accident, you will likely get many suggestions on what you need to do. Friends and family members might tell you to contact the other person directly, report the accident to your insurance company, get your car fixed right away or just keep the accident quiet and avoid speaking to anyone about it.
