A massive truck accident that occurred four months ago has become fatal after one of the victims of the wreck passed away due to the injuries suffered in the crash. As a result of the death, which occurred on Feb. 19, police have filed homicide by vehicle charges against the truck driver that triggered the 11-vehicle accident. The investigation is still open at this time and there are few other details available about the wreck.
What little else we do know is that photos from the scene of the accident show vehicles strewn all over the road with copious amounts of debris. It is also known that the driver of the larger semi truck that caused the entire accident was “following too close” and operating his vehicle “too fast for conditions.”
This is the problem with so many truck drivers out on the road. They fail to operate their vehicles in a safe manner, and as a result, they cause devastating accidents that kill people or deal them serious or catastrophic injuries. A truck driver’s job necessitates some brutal working hours and a certain penchant for driving at a rate of speed that ensures on-time delivery. These aren’t excuses — they are realities.
As such, when truck drivers do these things in dangerous ways, it leads to reckless driving. This can be proven and established through an investigation into the wreck, and in such a case, the victims or their loved ones must consider legal action.
