Accident involving several cars due to zombies, says truck driver

Georgia residents may have heard about a serious multiple-car accident on a southern California highway due to a driver’s claims of the accident being caused by zombies. The truck accident occurred after the 19-year-old man hitched a ride from a semi-truck driver and then ran off with the truck; he lost control and crashed into several cars. The young driver told authorities that he was being chased by zombies, and they were stuck to the truck. The truck in question was stolen and full of strawberries at the time of the crash. A police officer stated that the driver was apparently under the influence of some substance that caused his delusions.

The highway patrol officers reported that once the driver lost control of the semi, he hit a Toyota Tacoma causing that car to hit a Toyota 4Runner, which then hit a Mercedes. The driver kept his course and subsequently hit a Ford Taurus and Honda Accord. The tractor trailer then overturned, and the driver ran to a van where that driver held him for police. Four people were transported to the hospital, and those from the Tacoma were reported to be severely injured.

The truck started its trip in Tennessee where the authorized driver gave the young man a ride. When the driver left the truck for paperwork in California, the other man stole the truck, lost control and created the collision on the highway. The erratic driver was charged with “taking a vehicle without the owner’s consent and receiving known stolen property”.

When a truck of this size is out of control on the highway, people in smaller vehicles on the road are at great risk of serious personal injury or even death. Those injured in accidents involving trucks often have large medical expenses and may want to visit an attorney to discuss their options.
